FAQ

  • If there’s no ‘one answer’, what does a single analysis actually give me?

Movement doesn't work in absolutes, so no analysis — virtual or in-clinic — hands you a fixed diagnosis. What one Stepping Stone session gives you is a working hypothesis: a real, evidence-based starting point based on where your body is right now.

The Journey builds on that by tracking the same picture over multiple sessions, so instead of one snapshot, we follow the trail — seeing what changes, what doesn't, and what that tells us.

  • Why no more Zoom?

Zoom made it hard to see your whole body, plus scheduling and time zones created another problem. Sending video solves both. Efficiency in action!

  • Is ‘virtual’ as good as coming to clinic?

They are not identical. In-clinic uses full 4D motion analysis technology, the most advanced in the world. ‘Virtual’ draws on my years of observational experience, and is a great option once distance or timing makes coming to clinic impractical, or even impossible.

  • Do I need to be an athlete for this to be worth it?

Emphatically, NO! Everybody is equally worth the analysis; athletes simply have more time to dedicate to movement.

  • I don’t run — is this still for me?

Emphatically, YES! About half my clients don't run at all, and analysis starts with how you stand and move generally, not specifically with running.

  • What do I need to send to get started?

    • Full-body standing video: starting facing front, then back, then turning to both sides — barefoot, in underwear and shorts (cut above the knee)
    • Short video walking toward, away from, and across the camera, both directions — barefoot
    • Running video (if applicable), same angles, trainers on
    • Mark which side is left/right on camera before you start
    • These short videos are sent to me by email (details will be in the welcome email you’ll receive after payment).

Helen Hall

Maybe you feel like you’ve tried everything — stretching, strengthening, therapy — and still haven’t found your answer? For more than 12 years, I’ve been correlating what movement LOOKS LIKE with what’s OBJECTIVELY HAPPENING inside the body, using the world’s most advanced motion analysis technology. This work has honed my observational skills, and those same trained eyes are what you’ll gain access to — now, on your screen, not just in clinic.
